Professor Olga Marina Moran is a graduate of California State University Long Beach where she received her bachelors degree in Spanish and Linguistics, her masters degree in Spanish Literature and Culture and completed her Ph. D. course work in Latin American Literature and U.S. Latino Literature at the University of California, Irvine. She was the Foreign Language Coordinator for six years at Cypress College and the President of the California Community College Foreign Language Council.

Professor Moran has coordinated several study abroad language programs to Nerja and Barcelona, Spain, Cuernavaca, and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Guanajuato, Mexico and now Nerja, Spain for the fifth time. She believes in promoting cultural awareness to her students and that being immersed in another country´s culture and language to create a broader view of the world is important. Her story appears in the textbook, "Voces Hispánicas", as an inspiration to students to pursue their goals in life as she has done.
