SUMMER ABROAD PROGRAM IN NERJA, SPAIN

Itinerary-at-a-glance

Day 1: Saturday, June 30  – Departure Day
Depart from Los Angeles International Airport for Malaga, Spain. The departure time depends on the airline flown.

Day 2: Sunday, July 1 – Nerja, Spain
Change planes at the airline’s hub, continuing for Malaga airport. Meet the Hispanica Institute representative and transfer to Nerja by private motor coach. The transfer time will be a little over an hour. On one of the first evenings in Nerja there will be a welcome dinner.

Day 3: Monday, July 2, through Day 26: Thursday, July 26  – In Nerja
Four weeks of Spanish instruction at the Hispanica Institute in Nerja.  Breakfast and dinner are included daily with host family accommodations.

Day 27: Friday, July 27 - Nerja
Last full day of stay and instruction in Nerja.  This evening there will be a farewell dinner. 

Day 28: Saturday, July 28 – Nerja to Los Angeles
Depart in the morning from Nerja to the Malaga airport. Board your flight to Los Angeles, where you arrive later on the same day.

 

During the stay in Nerja, Spain, the following excursions and activities are included:

Tour of the Caves of Nerja and Frigiliana
The excursion to the nearby caves includes transportation, admission and guidance.

Full day excursion to Granada
Includes transportation by air-conditioned motor coach, service of Hispanica representative, local guide and admission fee to the Alhambra. Alhambra admission is capacity controlled. The availability will influence the day of this excursion.

Activities arranged by the Institute Hispanica
The Hispanica Institute offers a range of activities, almost every day, for its students.  Cypress College students are invited to partake in these activities.  Many of them are free of charge, and some require a modest co-payment.  Activities are carried out in Spanish.
