Welcome Back Week/Club Rush Associated Students in partnership with the Inter-Club Council, hosted Cypress College's Fall 2006 Club Rush. The event took place in front of the brand-new LLRC (Library and Learning Resource Center). Club Rush this semester was a great experience and an excellent outlet for Cypress students to be more involved with student activities around the campus.
Cypress College's 40th Anniversary Cypress College celebrated 40 years of establishment on October 21st 2006. After months of planning and preparation by the administration and the 40th Anniversary Committee members, the event turned out to be a success. Cypress College Alumni and Faculty Retirees came out to support the college. Showcases celebrating Cypress College's rich history were on display throughout the campus.
Red Ribbon Week The Associated Students of Cypress College, in conjunction with various campus & local organizations, supported Red Ribbon Week. Every year, one week in October is dedicated to promote a drug-free and alcohol-free lifestyle among American youth. Cypress College proudly supports this cause. This year, several informational tables & activities were available for student awareness & advocacy.
Scarefest The Associated Students held its annual Scarefest the day before Halloween to increase student participation and festivity during its two day Halloween celebration. Scarefest had events such as a pie-eating contest, apple bobbing, and trick-or-treat.
Faculty vs. Students Softball Game Associated Students hosted the 1st Annual Faculty vs. Student Softball Game in the girl's softball field. The faculty showed great teamwork & won the game with a score of 17-11. This was a great event that showed Charger spirit & intercampus camaraderie. Until next year's game...
Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive The Associated Students of Cypress College held its annual food drive to provide Thanksgiving dinners to deserving students in the are. Sponsors and donors from nearby businesses and campus staff were greatly honored.
