Arnette Edwards is the program manager for Black Studies Learning Community.
Arnette has over six years experience working in the area of Student Support Services. She began her journey at Cypress in 1999, when she was hired as a Student Services Technician in the Workforce Prep Center. During the time, she worked closely with CARE, CalWorks, EOPS and foster youth through out the Orange and L.A County area. Arnette is a liaison for the Guardian Scholars Program, and she also volunteers for Orangewood Children’s Foundation by providing educational workshops and presentations for the Independent Learning Program (ILP). In 2003 she transferred to the Financial Aid Department, where she continues to assist students with overcoming their financial and educational barriers.
Arnette has a B.S. degree in Human Services with an emphasis in Social Work from California State University Fullerton and a M.S. degree in Educational Counseling from National University.
Arnette joined the Black Studies Learning Community in 2006 when she graciously accepted the Black Studies Coordinator position. Her goal as the Black Studies Coordinator is to continue to help students strive towards educational success.
