Cypress Picks up Second Win

El Cajon, Calif. – The Chargers headed to Grossmont College to play in their eight team tournament. Cypress faced Barstow in the first round and moved to the winner’s bracket with a 69-66 victory. Freshman guard Khalif Boyd paced Cypress with 11 points and 5 rebounds hoping to get his double digit scoring streak going again.
Charger freshman Clinton Williams notched his first career double-double scoring 11 points while grabbing 10 boards. Freshman guard Eric Butler added 10 points of his own with 3 assists. Freshman forward Kourtney Maxim led Cypress on the boards with 11 rebounds.
The Chargers move into winner’s bracket at the Grossmont tournament facing off with College of the Desert next. Desert is 3-3 and coming into this game after a 78-71 win over host Grossmont. The teams face off Saturday at 6:00 pm at Grossmont.
