Close Game Gets Away from the Chargers

Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. – The Chargers returned to Chaffey Saturday night to face the host Panthers in the second game of a crossover. Cypress trailed by just four at halftime but let the game slip away losing to Chaffey 91-75. Freshman guard Sequana Norris had a breakout game scoring 28 points including four first half three-pointers to lead the Chargers.
Norris led the Chargers through the first half with seventeen first half points while the rest of the team contributed three three-pointers. The Panthers clamped down in the second half allowing just one Charger three and eight Charger field goals altogether as Cypress was outscored 27-35 in the second half leading to the 16 point loss. Freshman point guard Michelle Salemi added 11 points. Sophomore forward Saw-Ann Bryan was the third Charger in double-digits with ten.
Cypress falls to 0-4 on the season and must prepare for another tough matchup against sixth ranked rivals Cerritos. The two will face off in their annual pre-thanksgiving matchup with Cypress winning the last two in the series. They will meet up again Wednesday night at 7:00 pm at Cerritos.
