Fullerton, Calif. – The Chargers went on the road for a rematch against rival Fullerton Wednesday. The undersized Cypress squad could not get passed the favored Hornets losing 73-49. Freshman guard Kejera Jolly paced Cypress with eight points and four rebounds.
In a game plagued with turnovers, the Hornets cashed in at a much higher rate outscoring Cypress 28-11 off turnovers. Cypress had a rough go in the first half committing 17 turnovers allowing Fullerton to get way ahead 46-29 at the half. The Chargers were unable to close the gap in the second eventually losing by 24. Freshman guard Sequana Norris led Cypress in scoring with 12 points and four rebounds. Freshman guard Candyce Carlberg followed with seven points and three rebounds.
Cypress falls to 7-21 and 3-10 in conference. They will move on to play their final game of the season Friday on the road against Riverside. The last time they faced off, Riverside won in a close one, 82-77. They meet again Friday at Riverside at 5:30 pm at Riverside.
