Cypress Honored as a Top Academic Team by WBCA

The Chargers were ranked 10th in GPA amongst the nation’s Community Colleges

Cypress, Calif. – Cypress College’s 2007-08 Basketball team was named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s top 25 Team Honor Roll list Monday. “This award, given in NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA and Junior College/Community College, awards teams throughout the nation that carry the highest grade point averages (GPA) for the entire season based on the nomination submitted by WBCA-member head coaches” said the WBCA press release. Cypress’s 3.157 overall GPA was good enough for 10th on the community college list, the first time Cypress has made the list. Cypress was third amongst other California Community Colleges on the list with Ventura and Solano ahead of them.
