October 27th, 2006

Cypress, Calif. – The Chargers were hoping to grab another win from Orange Coast to bolster their case for an entry ticket to the playoffs but were disappointed with a 0-1 loss. The Chargers were able to hold the Pirates scoreless for sixty minutes before allowing a goal. The Cypress offense could not get going to at least grab a tie and lost the game in a very similar fashion to their loss earlier in the week to Santa Ana 0-1. With this win, Orange Coast leapfrogs Cypress to third while the Chargers fall to fourth in conference.

Cypress will look to bounce back against the fifth place Rustlers Tuesday. A win could move the Chargers as far as third and a loss could drop Cypress as far as fifth. The last time Cypress played Golden West, the Chargers left with a 4-1 upset win after a physical and controversial game. The teams face off again Tuesday at Golden West at 7:00 pm.
