Cypress, Calif. – Cypress opened Orange Empire Conference Tuesday hosting rival Golden West. The Chargers fell behind early and fought to climb back but came up short losing to the Rustlers 3-1. Freshman forward Jesse Pridmore scored Cypress’s lone goal in the second half.

Golden West came up shooting with a goal in the tenth minute putting Cypress behind early. The Rustlers came up shooting again in the 38th minute for the 2-0 margin. Cypress came out aggressive in the second half and was able to convert in the fiftieth minute as Pridmore scored from a pass from freshman midfielder Raul Gracian to cut the lead to one. The score fueled Cypress as they kept attacking the Rustler goal but continually missed by inches.
