Chargers Edged Out by Hornets

Fullerton, Calif. – Cypress had no time off after Monday’s match and headed back on the road to face Fullerton on Tuesday. The Chargers were unable to match the Hornets in a slim one goal loss 2-1. Sophomore midfielder Julio Reynoso put in Cypress’s only goal.
The teams fought to a competitive 0-0 tie after the first half. The scoring started in the second half with the Hornets outscoring the Chargers 2-1 in the half and the game. Sophomore keeper Giovanni Guzman played the entire game making three saves.
Cypress falls to 3-11-4 and 0-7-3 in conference. They will have a couple days off before coming home to host Orange Coast. The last time the teams met, the Pirates defeated Cypress 2-1. OCC is 3-5-2 coming off of a 2-1 loss to Santa Ana. The teams will meet up Friday at Cypress at 3:00 pm.
