Cypress Ends on a Sour Note

Irvine, Calif. – Cypress had their last chance Thursday afternoon to put up a win or end their season winless in conference. Cypress was outmatched and unable to come through allowing three goals without matching the effort in a 3-0 shutout loss. Freshman keeper Carlos Gutierrez was put to work making six saves on the day.
The Chargers fell behind early allowing a goal in the fifth minute to get behind early. Another goal in the 37th minute gave the Lasers a 2-0 halftime lead. The third and final goal came in the second half locking away the game for IVC. The second place Lasers were in control of the game out-shooting Cypress 16-3 throughout the game.
Cypress finishes the season 3-14-5 and 0-10-4 in conference in last place.
