The Cypress College Bookstore opened today in its new, permanent location. At this time, limited retail services are available. Among the items available for purchase are bluebooks and Scantron forms, as well as snacks and bevereges. Sales of textbooks and other items will resume later this week.

The Bookstore can be entered from Lot #1, past the main entrance to the Business Building, or from the middle of campus past the front of the Cypress College Complex.

Bookstore Opens in New Location

The Bookstore relocates from Gym 2 to the Bookstore Building, part of the new Student Center complex.

It's been more than 40 years, but the Bookstore finally has a permanent location on campus -- and it's a beauty.

The Bookstore is a single-story, glass front building with architecture mirroring the new Student Center, which is scheduled to open on May 6.

In addition to the Bookstore's retail space and the Campus Production Center, the 8,600-square-foot building also includes a warehouse for Bookstore inventory.

It is located immediately adjacent to the east side of the Business Building and the north side of Tech Ed 1. The Student Center is immediately east of the Bookstore and south of the Cypress College Complex (formerly the Library/Administration Building).

The Bookstore had operated in temporary facilities at the east end of the pond. Those buildings -- which stood at the northwest corner of what's now the Library/Learning Resource Center -- were torn down in February, 2004 to make room for the L/LRC construction.

Bookstore operations have resided in Gym 2 since vacating their former temporary home while awaiting construction of the new facility.
