Study Abroad A Program of the Language Arts Division Lighting Minds – Bridging Gaps Invitation ~Studying abroad offers many valuable gifts to both students and teachers. All are enhanced by being in a place with which they are not familiar. The reasons are many. New experiences and challenges open our horizons, broaden our perceptions, and give us a clearer perspective on life’s innuendoes and our personal values and goals. It is wonderful to earn an education regardless, but to study outside, be a stranger in a foreign land gives one that added boost towards maturity and wisdom. The academic, cultural, extra-curricular effects of studying abroad are remarkable – both short and long term. For a diverse education and experience assists in our marketability, strengthens character, shows us possibilities beyond what we can imagine, thereby making us more interesting human beings. The Language Arts Division offers just such a program to its students and college-wide faculty, as well as the community at large. The program offerings are expanding to include broader participation from various disciplines so that our Liberal Arts and Liberal Sciences offerings are stronger, diverse, and more interesting. Every semester, students join Cypress and Fullerton College faculty to share an experience in a foreign country. Why not then earn transferable credit while studying and traveling abroad?
