A Future Teacher Class is a class that is specially designed to meet the needs of students that are interested in pursuing a career in teaching. The focus of the class will include not only the subject matter, but also the pedagogy involved in teaching this subject matter to other students. Each Future Teacher class will be listed in the Fall schedule with an apple icon next to the class.

The Teacher Preparation Program is offering 24 class sections in the Fall line-up, including three relatively new ones:

CIS 118 - Technology for Teachers
This course offers the introductory features of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Excel, and PowerPoint applications to assist future K–12 teachers in the integrations of technology into classroom curricula.

EDU 200 - Elementary School Teaching
This course provides an overview of the teaching profession for students who are considering a career in elementary school teaching. Forty five hours of fieldwork in local schools is required. Prerequisite: COUN 120

PHIL 100 - Intro to Philosophy
This introductory course systematically explores, analyzes, and evaluates the concepts of knowledge, reality and value including topics such as the nature of God, mind, free will, personal identity, and the meaning of life.
